2019 is the year of Leonardo da Vinci. On the occasion of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of his death, cultural events, celebrations and initiatives will be held. The exhibition dedicated to Verrocchio, the master of Leonardo, opens on 8 March (until 14 July 2019), with works by Botticelli, Perugino, Ghirlandaio, exhibited at Palazzo Strozzi (Florence). While at Palazzo Vecchio, from March 25 to June 24, 2019, the Sala dei Gigli hosts “Leonardo and Florence”, a selection of papers related to works and studies carried out by Leonardo in Florence. There are also many exhibitions in Vinci, the birthplace of the Maestro. To visit the Leonardian museum dedicated to the figure of the genius and to the complexity of his work as artist, scientist and inventor, as well as the Birth house in Anchiano, immersed among the secular olive trees of Montalbano, in a landscape almost unchanged in time, symbol of Leonardo’s bond with his city.
